Osteopathy

A holistic approach to healthcare

A part that is out of balance can affect the whole body

The osteopath not only considers the area of symptoms but how it relates to the surrounding regions. The osteopath uses observation and the sensitive use of their hands to identify imbalances and altered tensions within the body. This includes evaluating joint range of motion, muscle and connective tissue tone, along with their relationship to breathing, nerve function, and the circulation of body fluids. Osteopathic treatment seeks to promote balanced function through restoring movement and varies according to the person, condition, and age group.

Kristine sees people across the lifespan with treatment tailored to the individual and their needs. She incorporates various styles of hands-on therapy, and Low Level Laser therapy where indicated.

Offering diverse treatment in support of musculoskeletal health

Your body moves and communicates as a whole system of function

Kristine draws on a diverse repertiore of traditional osteopathic treatment with a focus on functional methods. These are subtle techniques which access the body’s inherent movements during breathing in order to bring about deep relaxation and release of tensions through precise and sensitive hands-on diagnosis and rebalancing. This is an approach that can be applied to any region of the body and when applied to the head is often termed cranial osteopathy.

Kristine prefers to use this approach because in her experience it can have deep-seated effects and is well tolerated.

Home exercise advice may also be provided to encourage mobility and to promote stability.
